Company History

1900Yojin Tanaka, the founder was born
After graduating from Nagoya University School of Management (former Nagoya Senior Commerce School), entered "Nakayama Taiyo-do" the post-war cosmetics giant as rationalization manager, then moved onto "Nippon Sangyo" lead by Gisuke Ayukawa Esq., to modernize the group's management
1948Yojin Tanaka, the presbyter of consulting industry, founded Kaisha Gyomu Sogo Kenkyusho to respond to the voices of various industries
1952Yojin Tanaka acted as the key person in establishment of "Small and Medium Enterprise Management Consultants" system
1964Eikou Watanabe, present Representative Director, joins the firm from position of vise editor of Kobunsha Kappa Books, researches on the rise and fall of corporations, and then initiate the company management development support business
"Strong and good company" as a motto, Watanabe has since been actively helping on systematizing the essential management method of small businesses when expanding into major corporations. He has so far published 37 books.
1970Kaisha Gyomu Sogo Kenkyusho is incorporated
1972Yojin Tanaka decorated with "The Order of the Sacred Treasure,Gold and Silver Rays"
1976Company name change to Business Management Institute Co., Ltd. (Kaisha Gyomu Kenkyusho)
1978Eikou Watanabe establishes "The Society of Sushi & Japanese Restaurant Management", the only association of sushi bar proprietors in Japan
1983Yojin Tanaka commendated by All Japan Federation of Management Organizations for being the key factor in development of Japan Management Consultants Association and efficiency improvement of industries of Japan.
1987Yojin Tanaka awarded "Management Science Activation Award" by NIPPON OMNI-MANAGEMENT Association.
1990"Company Will Grow When Administration is Improved" (Nikkei) written by Eikou Watanabe is published by Korea Management Association in Korean language.
1993Over 8,000 books donated to The SANNO Institute of Management, Bunkyo Gakuin University, and Seicho Matsumoto Memorial Museum upon construction of new HQ building
1996"Administration Department Manager"s Handbook" (PHP) is published by 21st Century Books in Korean language
1998"The Society of Company Management", a self study group amongst the companies under consultation and in business engagement, established as a promotion of "Making Stronger and Better" to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the company. Over 700 various leading company proprietors, successors, and executives participate in this study group where honest-based communication is actively exchanged
2008Natsuhi Matsu-ura started the study of work-life balance triggered with her own experience of balancing of her home and being in the managerial position.
Presently, the company is actively promoting the idea of "Making Stronger and Better Company" in conjunction with various consultants experienced in lecturing at banks, think-tanks, and newspapers.
